BRYAN Adams has announced a return to South Wales – and tickets for the date go on sale today.
The Summer Of 69 star will play at Cardiff International Arena on Monday, November 3, as part of his UK tour to promote his new album, 11. The Canadian rocker releases his 11th studio album on Monday and it aims for a return to his anthemic rock roots by reuniting him with long-time collaborator Jim Vallance on three new tracks.
The Adams/Vallance partnership was responsible for many of his classic hits, including Summer of 69 and Run To You and here they are paired for Flower Grown Wild, Walk On By and Way Of The World.
Recorded largely in hotel rooms and backstage dressing rooms around the world during the past two years, 11 features less of his usual balladry and is better for it.
And the man the term “adult contemporary rock” was invented for has even embraced the digital revolution, releasing the album’s lead single I Thought I’d Seen Everything as a free download which is available now from hmv.com
To coincide with the album release and tour, an exhibition of Bryan Adams photographs is to be held at London’s historic National Portrait Gallery, titled Modern Muses.
Adams is now a very well-respected and in demand pop, fashion and portrait photographer and has snapped the likes of Amy Winehouse as well as the photos of Katherine Jenkins that became the cover of her last album.
The last time Adams played in South Wales was in a stadium gig at the Brewery Field, Bridgend, in June 2006.
Tickets for his gig at Cardiff International Arena cost £37.50 (plus booking fee) and are available from the box office on 029 2022 4488.
