CARDIFF Fencing Club dominated the weekend’s Welsh Team Foil Championships at the Welsh Institute of Sport, winning both men’s and women’s titles.

The women’s trio of Iona Pearson, Sue O’Connell and Zara Wheeler were first to collect their medals, while in the more competitive men’s competition, Nick Lee, Andy Pearson and James Harrington remained unbeaten throughout the tournament to take gold ahead of their clubmates in the Cardiff B team.

RESULTS:

Women: 1, Cardiff; 2, Swansea.

Men: 1, Cardiff A; 2, Cardiff B; 3, Vale Millennium; 4, Ddraig Wern; 5, Gwent Sword Club; 6, Swansea.
