Oxford will have a weight advantage of nearly 12lbs a man when they take on Cambridge in the 154th University Boat Race on Saturday.
The Dark Blues eight weighed in at a combined 123st 12lbs with their rivals scaling just under 117st 1lb.
The average weights, excluding the coxes, were 15st 6lbs 11oz for Oxford and 14st 8lbs 12oz for Cambridge, who will be carrying the lighter cox. Rebecca Dowbiggin, who steered the Light Blues to victory last year, weighed in at 7st 9lbs 9oz with Oxford’s Nicholas Brodie scaling 8st 5lbs 11oz.
Cambridge coach Duncan Holland said, “Historically the heavier crew tend to win but there are plenty of examples of the lighter crew winning.”
