Boxing: Olympics blow for Mo

MO Nasir saw his Beijing dream vanish when he was forced to retire with an ankle injury midway through last night’s quarter-final in Pescara against England’s Khalid Yafai.

The 22-year-old Newport flyweight must now hope for another chance in the one remaining Olympic qualifying competition in Athens in April.

Yafai is one of five English boxers through to tomorrow’s semi-finals, where victory would see them claim a trip to China.
