Rugby League: End of a World dream

FORMER international John Devereux called it a “sad day” after the Wales rugby league side failed to qualify for the 2008 World Cup.

Wales went down 50-26 to Lebanon after being 20-10 ahead at half time in their vital qualifier.

Devereux said: “We can’t really give an answer. We had some injuries.

“We were down to our bare 17 and Iestyn Harris strained a hamstring strain in the warm-up.”
