R League: Crusaders break club records

Crusaders 84-10 Hunslet

CELTIC CRUSADERS secured a record eighth win in a row with a club best score.

The rout of Hunslet Hawks sets them up nicely for a clash with another Yorkshire side, Keighley Cougars, at the Brewery Field next Saturday.

The Cougars will be wary after the Crusaders ran in 15 tries to beat their 82-point haul against Swinton Lions earlier this season.

Paul Ballard (3), Tony Duggan (3), Mark Dalle Cort (2), Damien Quinn (2), Grant Epton, Rob Toshack, Jamie I’Anson, Luke Young and Darren Mapp all got in on the scoring as the Hawks were blown away.

Crusaders coach John Dixon said, “After four weeks on the road, it was great to be back at home.

“We maintained our effort for the full 80 minutes and scored some wonderful tries, it was really exciting stuff.”
