Cricket: Morley proves an inspiration

ADRIAN Morley insisted it was mission accomplished after he led a youthful Great Britain to an emphatic victory over France in the one-off mid-season Test at Headingley.

The 30-year-old Warrington prop inspired the young Lions to a 42-14 success, to give Tony Smith a winning start as head coach.

Morley, who scored one of Britain’s eight tries, was delighted, saying: “It was a tough game and great preparation for the end of the year.

“It was good to get all the boys together mid-season and into a Test match state of mind.”
