Bulls set for showdown with Demons

OLD rivals Bridgend Blue Bulls and Cardiff Demons clash on a potentially decisive day in the Welsh Conference.

Both teams go into the match at Porthcawl (2.30pm) in form – the Blues Bulls bouncing back from a shock defeat to Valley Cougars with a midweek win over West Wales Sharks, while the Demons inflicted a first defeat of the season on the Newport Titans last time out.

And Demons player-chairman Andrew Bradshaw is looking forward to the challenge against the reigning champions.

He said: “We had a great win over Newport and hope to continue that form against Bridgend who are a side we hold in the greatest respect as they are a team we have never beaten.”

The second-placed Titans look to get their season back on track when they entertain Valley Cougars.

Elsewhere, Blackwood Bulldogs will be hoping wing David James can repeat his try-scoring heroics last week for Wales A when they head to Torfaen Tigers, while NPT Steelers head west to the Sharks.

All Conference games kick off at 2:30pm, with Celtic Crusaders taking on Workington Town at the Brewery Field at 6pm in a crucial Co-operative National League Two match.

In a special offer, the first 200 fans who attend either the Bridgend Blue Bulls v Cardiff Demons or West Wales Sharks v NPT Steelers matches earlier in the day will be given a free ticket for the Crusaders match.
