R League: Crusaders will miss Beasley

CELTIC Crusaders will be without Chris Beasley for their first ever televised game against Barrow Raiders in the Co-operative National League Two clash at the Brewery Field tomorrow (6.30pm).

Beasley picked up a knee injury against Featherstone, but he is expected to return by the end of the month.

Coach John Dixon believes Gareth Dean is close to returning to the side, but believes that this week may be too soon for him.

The Welsh international hasn’t played since picking up an injury in the Crusaders’ 82-4 win over Swinton Lions on April 28.

Richard Johnston and Terry Martin are also still out with their respective knocks.

Barrow will be without their two first choice wingers after Nick Beach dislocated his shoulder in their win over Swinton last Sunday and James Nixon is still suffering from a dead leg.

The match will be televised on S4C for the first time.
