WELSHMAN Matt Myers is shining for Great Britain in the 2008 World Ice Hockey Championships.
Cardiff-born former Devils forward Myers, who now plays for Elite League rivals Nottingham Panthers, has drawn big praise from GB coach Paul Thompson, who said: “He has been outstanding.
“He gives me everything he has every shift.”
GB have played three matches in their World Championship group, opening with a 1-1 draw against hosts Poland before losing the penalty shoot-out for an extra point.
They were beaten 10-5 against Austria, but won 4-1 against Korea last night.
Cardiff Devils coach Gerad Adams says he is ‘excited’ about next season under new club owner Matt Burge.
Adams has been appointed Devils coach and will focus on bench duties rather than playing.
Captain Brad Voth has already signed for next season.
