Ice Hockey: Devils make it the perfect 10

Edinburgh Capitals 1-4 Cardiff Devils

CARDIFF Devils have made it 10 wins in a row.

It’s an astonishing run of victories which has lifted them from near the foot of the table into second place.

They followed a 3-1 win against Manchester Phoenix at home on Saturday with a 4-1 success against Edinburgh Capitals in Scotland last night.

Devils now face two huge matches next weekend against their biggest rivals – Coventry Blaze away on Saturday and Newcastle Vipers in Cardiff Bay on Sunday.

Those two matches will go a long way towards deciding where the Elite League ice hockey title goes at the end of this season.

Before that, though, Cardiff have a home match against Edinburgh on Wednesday evening (7.30pm).

Last night, Sylvain Deschatelets scored twice with Brad Voth and Tyson Teplitsky added one each.

Injured winger Mike Prpich travelled with the team to Scotland and was on the bench.

“I have an MRI scan today and then we’ll find out the extent of the damage,” said Prpich, who suffered damage to a knee during Cardiff’s win at Belfast Giants last week.
