SLOVAKIAN forward Mat Petricko led the way as Cardiff Devils beat Manchester Storm 3-1 to make it nine ice hockey Elite Leagues wins in a row.in
Petricko scored twice and Jason Silverthorn once as the Devils scored once in each period.
Goalie Phil Osaer was man of the match, while French-Canadian centre Sylvain Deschatalets completed a remarkable comeback by being voted player of the month.
Less than two months ago, Deschatalets was officially released by the Devils after failing to hit form. But he opted to play on while he served notice – and is now among the League’s top scorers with five goals and 27 assists.
