Ice Hockey: Devils’ six wins in row

CARDIFF Devils swept to a sixth successive Elite League ice hockey win last night.

They defeated Manchester Phoenix 5-3 away with goals from Max Birbraer (2), Sylvain Deschatalets, Met Petricko and Jason Silverthorn.

The fifth goal, by Silverthorn, was an empty-net effort in the last minute. Tonight the Devils are at home to Nottingham Panthers (6pm).
