Rugby: Cup shock

Glynneath Youth 16-12 Corus Youth

GLYNNEATH Youth picked up a superb cup semi-final victory over an unbeaten and highly fancied Corus outfit at Seven Sisters.

Glynneath were against a heavier pack but stuck to the task, despite having two players sent to the sin-bin.

Glynneath took the lead with a great individual try by scrum-half Tavis Knoyle, converted by Jack O’Reily.

Corus drew level, when their pack drove over the line, Alan Bray getting the touchdown and Greg Owen converting. Rowan Davies added a second try for Corus, again thanks to his powerful forwards.

Glynneath grew stronger as the match progressed and were on top at the set pieces. Three Jack O’Reilly penalties sealed a superb win for Glynneath.
