Seven Sisters 1-1 Cwmaman Institute
STRUGGLERS Seven Sisters held high-flying Cwmaman Institute to a draw in Welsh League Division Three.
The point gained took Seven Sisters above Ystradgynlais on goal difference.
After a goalless first-half, Cwmaman, disappointed they did not take the three points, went ahead through Mike Oliver, who pounced from close range after Lewis Jones’ shot had been blocked by goalkeeper Damian Turner 15 minutes from time.
Seven Sisters continued to show plenty of spirit and in the closing stages of a game which produced plenty of goal chances – most of them spurned by both sides – the Herdman family took the spotlight to earn a precious point.
Substitute Richard Herdman, replacing Owain Llewellyn with seven minutes remaining, made a dramatic entry.
He scored the equalising goal two minutes from the end.
Earlier in the half, Ross Williams and Lewis Jones had been foiled by excellent defending from Daniel Evans.
Seven Sisters: Damian Turner, Daniel Evans, Jonathan Douglas, Steve Morrow, Huw Pascoe, Steve Soper, James Griffiths, Owain Llewellyn, Andy Morrow, Barry Herdman, Richard Bowden. Substitutes: Nicky Moore, Philip Thomas, Kerry Phillips, Richard Herdman.
