Darts: Borough players lift Celtic Cup

THREE Merthyr Premier League Darts players were part of the Welsh team that won the Celtic Cup in the Republic of Ireland.
Phil Evans, Dale Pinch and Geraint Thomas were included in the 20-strong squad of men and women who claimed the cup in County Clare.
It was the first time the three took part in the event but both Pinch and Evans have a proven tack record in Six Nations matches.
Evans won both his games while Pinch and Thomas both beat their Republic of Ireland opponents but lost to their Northern Ireland counterparts.
Overall, the Welsh ladies beat Northern Ireland 7-0 and the Republic 5-2, while the men beat Republic 10-3 and Northern Ireland 8-5.
