Ystradgynlais FC 4 - 0 AFC Llwydcoed
COED travelled to the Swansea Valley for this must-win match and gained a deserved Welsh League Division Three win.
The pitch was more suited for gardening then football but the Cynon Valley boys overcame the conditions.
Matthew Phillips was brought into the Cynon Valley team, replacing the injured Sebastian Haggett.
And he was prominent early on, causing problems for Ystrad from the start.
The danger signals were rewarded with an early goal when a lovely through ball by Jonathan Mason saw the Ystrad defence break open and Matthew Reynolds scored with a brilliant effort.
The visitors midfield of Leon Bansal and Robert Evans were dominant throughout and further chances came and went.
Coed started the second half knowing they were in almost total control - and that soon became more evident when a superb pass from Wayne Smith found on-form Phillips.
He also added the next goal before Robert Evans sealed the victory.
Coed won the match convincingly. Their team work was superb and the development of Andrew Cayford has been a huge plus for the club.
“Every player is now working for the team,” said AFC Llwydcoed secretary David Evans.
“Discipline is now priority in the remaining games.”
