Garw 1-4 Taffs Well
RELEGATED Garw now have the summer break to regroup in a bid to stabilise matters in the MacWhirter Welsh League Division Two.
The Blandy boys will want to draw a line under a season that saw them score just 14 goals and leak an astonishing 217 from 34 league matches.
A fire at the ground also cost them Dick's Cabin and with it, a priceless amount of memorabilia.
The club were staging a meeting last night to point the way ahead for next season.
Taffs Well were out of the starting blocks like a shot at Blandy with Steve Edwards shooting them two goals ahead after just four minutes.
But in a typical end-of-season encounter, Garw began to claw their way back - and scored a rare goal.
Steve Hughes swung the ball into the penalty area and a superb header from Arfon Morris moved him on to the three-goal mark for the season.
The sides changed ends on 2-1 and Morris went on to miss a good chance for Garw to level.
But Taffs Well got back on top, and scored further goals through Aaron Lloyd and Lloyd Toghill.
