Bowls: Game ends a draw

Ebbw Vale Talgarth

EBBW Vale Welfare Men's Bowls played away at Talgarth on Monday, April 21.

With Ebbw Vale's green not open until Saturday, April 26, this gave them an opportunity to get the feel of the green ready for their away game in the WBA Cup at Pontnewydd on Saturday April 26.

The game didnt look as if it would go ahead after some very heavy rain, but by late afternoon it cleared and a lovely sunny Talgarth evening the game went ahead.

This was also the first match played on the Talgarth green this season, where it played excellent, with some good bowls from both sides. The game finished with Ebbw Vale winning three rinks and Talgarth winning three rinks, which seemed to be a fair result.

After the game all players went into the club house where the ladies section put on refreshments.

Ebbw Vale would like to thank Roy Taylor and everyone at Talgarth Bowls Club for this excellent game and look forward to see them at Ebbw Vale on May 11.
