Golf: Great Wales Open offer

GOLF club members can enjoy incredible value at The Celtic Manor Wales Open this summer following the launch of a special two-for-one ticket offer.

Every member of a golf club can enjoy what amounts to half-price entry for the leading European Tour event, which in 2007 featured Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen, Michael Campbell and Nick Dougherty.

The offer gives golf enthusiasts an extra incentive to attend this year’s Celtic Manor Wales Open from May 29-June 1 when the tournament makes the exciting move to the Twenty Ten course – the first course in history built specifically for hosting the Ryder Cup.

The tournament’s prize fund has also increased from £1.5m to £1.8m, meaning that an even stronger field is expected to vie for not only the £300,000 winner’s cheque but also the Ryder Cup points on offer for Nick Faldo’s European team.

Following Bradley Dredge’s brave, but ultimately unsuccessful, bid to become the first Welsh winner of the event last year, The Celtic Manor Wales Open promises to provide even more excitement in 2008.

Designed for the drama of the Ryder Cup, which will be the biggest sporting event ever held in Wales in 2010, a closing stretch of death-or-glory challenges culminates in the thrilling 18th.

Tournament director Dylan Matthews said, “We’re all very excited about this year’s Celtic Manor Wales Open and the move to the Twenty Ten course.

“This new two-for-one offer for golf club members means even more golf fans can take advantage of the great value sporting action at the tournament.”

The offer applies to all golf club members until March 31.
