Golf: I’ve still got work to do – Tiger

TIGER WOODS shrugged off suggestions he is on a hot streak and insisted his victory at Torrey Pines last week – his sixth in seven starts – was just another step in his remarkable career.

Woods tees-off at the Emirates Golf Club today looking to win a second Dubai Desert Classic title, after strolling to his 62nd win on the PGA Tour last week at the Buick Invitational in San Diego.

That triumph left Woods tied with Arnold Palmer in fourth place on the all-time PGA Tour winners’ list.

The only blemish on his impressive recent record, which dates back to last August’s World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, is a second-place finish at September’s Deutsche Bank Championship.

Despite the amazing run, typified by his eight-stroke victory in California, Woods still insists he still has holes in his game, but is heading in the right direction through working with coach Hank Haney.

“People ask me it it’s a run, but I think it’s just improvement. That’s one of the reasons why I made the changes that I made to get to this point,” said the 32-year-old 13-time major winner.

“People ask me why I made changes in 1997, well look at what happened in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

“Then I made changes a few years ago and look where I am now; that’s why you make changes to get better.

“You can see the results of the work I have been doing with Hank and the great thing is there is a long way to go.”
