JOE Calzaghe has revealed he plans to throw half as many punches as normal against Bernard Hopkins – but to make each and every one count.
The trash-talking American has ridiculed Calzaghe’s reputation for throwing frenzied barrages of shots saying that policy will be his downfall tomorrow night.
But the Welshman dismissed Hopkins’ threats when the pair came face-to-face last night, saying he should expect a package of surprises when the pair finally step into the ring.
“The important thing is that I make sure I throw the kind of damaging punches that are going to re-arrange that face of his.”
Calzaghe and Hopkins are due on the scales for the fight weigh-in later tonight at around 10.30pm British time.
