CARDIFFIAN Gary Buckland will be hoping to make his Sky TV debut next Friday.
The 21-year-old Celtic light-welter champion faces Latvian Alex Spitko in Nottingham, on a Frank Maloney bill topped by the European super-bantam clash between big-hitting Spaniard Kiko Martinez and Midlands challenger Rendall Munroe.
Without wishing Munroe any ill, the Rumney boy will no doubt be happy enough if Martinez ends matters as quickly as he did when he dethroned Irishman Bernard Dunne in 86 seconds. An early ending to the main event will improve Buckland’s chances of making it on screen.
