CARDIFF disabled runner John McFall completed a fine sprint double at the world wheelchair and amputee Games in Taiwan when he added the 200metres title at the weekend.
McFall, who lost his right leg in a moped accident seven years ago, wasn’t the only Welsh athlete to medal when Bridgend’s Nathan Stephens won his first senior world medal when he took the bronze in the discus.
Newport’s Kate Arnold continued her transition from swimming to the track with sixth place finishes in both the T46 100m and 200m.
Further personal bests were delivered by Merthyr’s Adam Lewis – who threw 17.85m in the men’s ambulant discus to finish seventh – and Andrew Wilkinson from Cwmbran who also finished seventh in the shot putt with a throw of 5.55m.
Wilkinson is a relative newcomer to the Welsh squad and this is his first ever outing in a GB vest.
