WELSH Marathon star Jon Brown will no longer run for Britain, choosing instead to represent Canada after having his lottery funding axed.
Brown, fourth in the last two Olympic marathons, has switched his allegiance to the country where he has lived for more than a decade.
The 36-year-old British 10,000metres record holder said: “I no longer will be representing Great Britain in athletic competition; instead I will now be running for Canada.
“This decision for me has been long overdue, and has renewed my enthusiasm for the sport – which had been waning recently.”
