Athletics: Cardiff run for Adere

ATHLETICS: Versatile world champion Berhane Adere, ranked the top women’s marathon runner in the world last year, will compete in the BUPA Great Wales Run on July 29.

The Ethiopian star, who celebrates her 34th birthday tomorrow, is eager to add another title to the BUPA Great North Run and Manchester successes she has claimed in recent years.

Last October’s Chicago marathon winner is just as well suited to the 10km distance, having won the world track 10,000m title.
