Hembrow chasing Newport home comforts

CENTRE Nick Wakley comes back into the Newport side in an unaccustomed position of full-back as coach Ian Hembrow searches for a first home win of the season.

Changes on the bench include the return from injury of Lewis Evans and a place for hooker Michael Leaman, who transferred from Cardiff in the summer.

Maesteg skipper Ian Boobyer starts on the bench after injury and both Dean Thomas and Karl Hocking have also picked up bumps. But they went well against Neath and have one of the best front rows in the division.

Newport: N Wakley; C Young, N Williams, S Williams (capt), M Poole; D Griffiths, M Thomas; I Evans, A Brown, D Evans, M Workman, M Veater, R Dale, A Coombes, P Williams.

Maesteg: N Trowbridge; J Howells, R Boobyer, Mike Davies, L Woodard; P Smithson, L O’Connor; G Edwards, L Williams, S Tremlett, P Clapham (capt), P Morgan, P Wheeler, S Jones, Matthew Davies.
