Ospreys prop named Ravens forwards coach

BRIDGEND have confirmed that Ospreys prop Andrew Millward is their new forwards coach, writes Tony Poole.

The former Penarth, Aberavon and Neath player forms a new coaching team headed by Paul Williams with Ravens flanker Ioan Cunningham looking after conditioning.

Millward will act on a day-to-day basis as a direct link between Bridgend and the Liberty Stadium side.

“Andrew being an attached coach is seen as a further sign of the Ospreys' commitment to Bridgend,” said Bridgend Ravens director David Rees.

The Ospreys link was alive and kicking last night, as the Ravens brought the curtain down on their home programme with a deserved victory over Cross Keys.

The Ospreys pairing of half-backs Rhys Webb and Gareth Owen made light of wet conditions to control matters with tries while hooker Edward Shervington stood out in the pack that sealed only a ninth league victory of the campaign for Bridgend.

Bridgend: Tries: G Owen, R Webb; Cons: G David (2); Pens: G David (3)
