Tiata signs new Ospreys deal

VETERAN back rower Filo Tiatia – Osprey’s best player this season – has penned a new 12-month deal to stay at the Liberty Stadium.

The 36-year old former New Zealand international arrived in Wales in the summer of 2006 after spending four years playing for Japanese side Toyota Verblitz.

Capped twice by the All Blacks eight years ago, the No 8 or flanker has been a huge success for the Magners League champions and Heineken Cup quarter-finalists.

“I’m really happy to sign up for another year and I’m looking forward to hopefully being part of something special over the next few months and beyond that into next season,” said Tiatia.

“I can’t think of a better place to be, the Ospreys are continuing to grow and have a really positive future with an excellent squad and some fantastic youngsters coming through, putting pressure on the guys in possession of the shirt.”
