Shane: Lyn's exit has hit me for six

SHANE Williams has admitted to being left shocked by the sudden exit of Lyn Jones from the Ospreys.

Talking exclusively to icWales, Wales' record Test try scorer said: "This news has hit me for six."

Williams has worked with Jones for his entire professional career at Neath and then the Ospreys.

He added: I have worked with him for a long time and this is a real shame.

"I started my career with Lyn at Neath and he has always been there for me.

"Even though people have talked about his position being uncertain, I have never thought Lyn has done a bad job.

"This is a real shock, I did not see it coming and I expected Lyn to be with us next season."

And Williams stressed that Jones must take credit for the progress he has made in recent years.

"A lot of things I have done have in part been down to Lyn," he insisted.

"He has helped me with so many parts of my game. This is really hard to take, I feel I am losing a friend as well as a coach."
