Tough sevens test for Wales

WALES have been handed a tough South Sea test at the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens next month.

Samoa join Canada, Spain and Wales in Pool C while the Fijians line up in Pool D against France, Moldova and Kenya.

Hosts Scotland have been handed a tough task after being drawn against South Africa, Australia and Argentina.

The Scots face this month’s Adelaide Cup champions South Africa in Pool B on day one of the tournament at Murrayfield on May 31.

Leaders New Zealand face England, Russia and Portugal in Pool A of the two-day event, which rounds off the IRB Sevens World Series season.

The Kiwis look set to retain the title after winning the first five cups but they are yet to rubber-stamp their defence and South Africa, Fiji and Samoa are battling it out for second place.

Meanwhile, former England captain Martin Corry has signed a one-year extension with Leicester Tigers which will take him through to the end of the 2008-09 season – his 12th campaign with the Welford Road club.
