Golden Jason fleeces Pencoed in victory

FULL-BACK Jason Davies starred with 27 of the points as Felinfoel won 32-16 at Pencoed to clinch the title in Division Two (West). Foel were ahead 15-10 at half-time.

Davies converted his own try, kicked four penalties and popped over a dropped goal. He also converted a try from prop Luke Spurway.

Leading 20-7 at half-time, Carmarthen Athletic were made to fight for their 37-19 victory at Tumble. Wing Chris Mathias crossed for two of the Athletic tries.

Fly-half David Evans caught the eye with a try, four conversions and a hat-trick of penalties, while Tumble ran in three tries through hooker Mike Powell, lock Steve George and flanker Aled Lewis.

After being 22-5 behind at the break, Cwmavon rallied to beat visiting Gorseinon 29-25.

Fly-half Neil Gadd crossed for two of the four tries for Cwmavon, the others going to the two brothers Jonathan and Matthew Mazen on opposite wings.

There was a welcome victory for Pontyberem, for whom lock Darren Morgan grabbed two of the tries in the 31-18 win at home to Penclawdd.

Further tries were added by wing Iwan Harris, prop Matthew Morgan and wing Mike Sauro, who also landed three conversions.

There was a hat trick of tries from full-back Andrew Francis, which helped Kidwelly defeat Nantymoel 63-0 at Parc Stephens. It was 42-0 at half time.

In the best of the action in Division Three (West), centre Dan Harris capped an outstanding performance with four tries in helping Haverfordwest overcome visiting Cwmgors 52-6 after being ahead 24-3 at the break.

Scrum-half Michael Venables crossed twice, and there were tries for his brother Jonathan Venables at centre, and flanker Matthew Lewis, six of them being converted by fly-half Steve Williams.

In Division Four (West), four of the 11 tries for Morriston in the 78-10 win at home to Tycroes were shared between full-back Andrew Halfpenny and centre Peter Roberts.

The remaining tries were registered by prop Alun Pritchard, scrum-half Paul Whapam, hooker Paul Thomas, prop Mike Osborne, flanker Craig Lloyd, No 8 Adam Colclough, and fly-half Terry Palmer. It was 43-3 at half time.
