Drovers dig deep

Llandovery 15-26 Swansea

THE All Whites reeled off an eleventh consecutive Premiership win by beating Llandovery at Church Bank.

It looked easy for the visitors at half-time after they led 14-9 despite playing into a ferocious wind. Tries from centre Adrian Thomas and wing Chris Shelmerdine, both converted by fly-half Dan Biggar, bettered three penalties by home fly-half Gareth Morgan.

With the wind, Swansea looked ready to stroll clear and seemed to be doing so when Shelmerdine got his second try.

Two penalties from Morgan then brought the Drovers to within six points. Their hopes of a bonus point were dashed, however, when lock Sam Kiley crashed over in the corner at the end of a Swansea breakaway to claim a bonus point for the mightily relieved All Whites.

Llandovery: Pens – G Morgan (5).

Swansea: Tries – C Shelmerdine (2), A Thomas, S Kiley; Cons – D Biggar (3).
