BP LLANDARCY extended their lead at the top of division three south west to 17 points as they won 22-18 at Skewen, and now look virtually certain to gain promotion as they are 19 points ahead of third team Tondu with just six games remaining.
Darren Fender grabbed a brace of tries and there was one apiece for Alan Bevan and James McKenna.
Second placed Nantyfyllon went down 16-11 at Maesteg Quins and Tondu lost ground by slipping to a 16-10 reverse away at Aberavon Quins.
In division three south east, Bedlinog celebrated their fortieth league game without defeat by running riot at Penarth and picked up a bonus point in a 41-7 scoreline. Ryan Jenkins scored two of his side’s six tries.
In division four south east, leaders Llandaff North beat Ferndale 33-15 and Anthony Watts ran in a hat-trick of tries for second placed Aberdare, who beat Abercwmboi 26-3.
In division four south west leaders Bryncoch had to fight hard before overcoming bottom club Abercrave 30-22, and the result may have gone the other way but the visitors were reduced to 14 men after just 10 minutes.
In five south east table toppers Porth Quins just edged out Cowbridge 13-8 and Deri jumped into second place after routing Penygraig 37-13. Cai Davies grabbed a hat-trick.
In five south central, Aberavon Green Stars just pipped Cefn Cribbwr 18-10.
Richard Lewis, Damian Adams and Rhodri Lewis went on the scoresheet for the Stars.
Second placed Porthcawl could only draw 17-17 with Blaengarw and in division five south west Bettws ran in 12 tries in a 72-7 hammering of Brynna.
Mark Thomas ran in three tries and Phil Thomas kicked 12 points for the victors.
In division six central, leaders and Worthington Cup finalists Bryncethin swept aside Llanrumney 45-14 at Ball Road.
