SCARLETS coach Phil Davies decribed his team’s display as “sensational” against the Blues last night.
“It’s been a long time coming and I thought the boys were sensational tonight,” said Davies.
“It’s been a long time coming and I am chuffed for everyone.
“The attitude was right and the quality was there as well.
“The lads have three days off now and they deserve that.”
Davies singled out Stephen Jones for special praise.
“Stephen was outsanding he controlled things well,” Davies added.
“It wasn’t a gamble to play the lads who came back from Wales duty.”
Meanwhile, Davies’ opposite number Dai Young said his team lost out on too many 50-50 balls.
“We lost out on the money balls too often and it ended up costing us,” said Young.
“If you pass up opportunities against a quality side you are going to pay the price and that’s what happened to us.
“I still think we are going to have a big say in where the Magners League title ends up, but we are facing a mountain now in terms of winning it.”
