“WE didn’t live with Cardiff at the Arms Park this season,” said Bedwas head coach Steve Law. “But I hope it will be a different game here today.
“Cardiff are still the side that every club wants to beat. They were renowned as the greatest club side in the world and if I had to get my players up for this one then they would be playing the wrong sport.”
Centre Phil Dollman misses out with an injury suffered in a hard-earned 13-12 win at Llanelli last week and in comes Wales Under-20 cap Jason Tovey, who has played most of his rugby at fly-half or full-back. Former Newport scrum half Gareth Crothers is called to the bench.
Cardiff give no clue to their line-up in a strange season that has seen them with lows and highs.
It is possible that Leigh Halfpenny could return to boost Cardiff.
Bedwas: S Thomas; F McLoughlin, J Tovey, D Atkins, N Hill; J Welch (capt), J Pizey; G Leonard, K Crawford, K Jenkins, C Powell, A Brown, P Sargent, A Tibbatts, R Downes.
