Bedlinog stretch unbeaten run

BEDLINOG have opened up a six-point gap at the top of Division Three south east and have stretched their unbeaten run to 38 games – but were given the fright of their lives by Llantwit Fardre before edging to a dramatic 12-11 victory.

Derek Edmunds was their hero scoring all their points through four penalties.

St Peter’s jumped from fourth to second as they saw off promotion rivals Tylorstown 27-13.

In Three South West, leaders BP won 13-5 at Fardre and Nantyffyllon jumped into second spot by winning 20-7 at Kenfig Hill.

Skewen kept alive their hopes by hammering Banwen 57-14. Richard Davies and Jamie Ball both ran in a brace of tries.

In four South East, Llandaff North beat Dowlais 38-10. Mike Fussey got a hat-trick of tries and Ryan Jones landed 13 points with the boot.

Aberdare kept in touch with the leaders as they overcame Cefn Coed 23-15.

James Daniels was man of the match and grabbed all 23 points.

In Four South West, Bryncoch have opened up a seven-point advantage as they beat fellow contenders Maesteg Celtic 19-8 and second-placed Brynaman lost 25-26 at Neath Athletic.

In Five South East, St Josephs held on to pole position by picking up a losing bonus point as they suffered a shock 11-7 reverse at Old Penarthians, who fought back from a 7-0 half-time deficit.

Porth Quins could bounce back to Division Four as they cruised to a 27-8 success over Dinas Powys.

In Five South Central, Porthcawl enjoyed an 31-12 win at Rhigos.

In Division Six Central, leaders Bryncethin stayed top as they looked impressive in a 26-11 triumph at Wattstown and Cambrian Welfare slipped to second spot as they won 17-5 at former Worthington District Cup winners Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd.
