Merthyr 19-40 Cross Keys

CROSS KEYS took their place in the fifth round of the cup but only after a thorough examination at The Wern.

Merthyr contested every scrummage and caused particular disruption at the line-out, prompting Keys’ director of rugby Rob Beale to say that attention would have to be paid in that area.

Final try count was 5-3 and that included a hat-trick from the well-balanced Marcus Johnstone.
