Old Illtydians 15-16 Tondu

THERE was a dramatic finish to this all Division Three affair.

Tondu had amassed a commanding 16-3 lead by half time with a Rhys Cunningham try converted by Dean Thomas, the outside half also landing three penalties. The only response from the home side was a Cody Rees penalty.

In the second half, Old Illtydians powered back into contention with tries by Neil Barrymore and Matthew Taylor.

Rees converted one and had the opportunity to edge his side ahead only to hit the post with the other conversion attempt.

The miss proved crucial as Tondu clung on.
