Merthyr 19-40 Cross Keys

KEYS knew they had a game on their hands when they drew Merthyr, but they faced the challenge of the Ironmen and finished winners at The Wern.

Try hero for them was winger Marcus Johnstone with two tries in the first half and one more in the second.

But Merthyr were always working hard and did particularly well at the line-out. When Lewis Williams was obstructed they got a penalty try and Gethin Thomas and Matt Edwards also scored.

Keys had a fine kicker in Leon Andrews who put over three conversions and three penalties.
