Ebbw Vale 31-14 Caerphilly
EBBW Vale safely made their way past a dogged Caerphilly side after a lightning start at Eugene Cross Park.
The Steelmen crossed for five tries, three from winger Andrew Bevan.
And it was a hat-trick that looked on the cards after he had grabbed a brace with just three minutes on the clock.
But the Division One East side showed plenty of guts and it wasn’t until first half injury time that the hosts added to their tally through prop Ian George.
And the Cheesemen matched the Premiership side after the break, with tries by Rob Phillips and Lee Milan to balance out efforts from Bevan and Greg Roberts.
