Ospreys hooker enjoying life after Wales’ Grand Slam win

OSPREYS hooker Huw Bennett has spoken about how his life has changed since playing a part in this year’s Welsh Grand Slam.

Despite his rising stock at international level, Bennett still has to do battle with Richard Hibbard for the number two jersey with his region, and found himself on the bench for the EDF Energy Cup semi-final against Saracens last weekend.

But nothing is going to put him out of his stride at present.

“It’s quite funny when you’ve got your hands full in Tesco and someone wants to shake your hand, but you work around that,” said Bennett.

“As Welsh people we love rugby and we really love success.

“Having that in the Six Nations does bring an extra excitement to the game. We achieved something massive and it’s just a great feeling.”

And Bennett accepts he is not going to play every game for the Ospreys.

“It’s not just a case of one to 15 now,” he added. “We have quality players throughout the squad and we are a competitive bunch.”
