TOULOUSE scrum-half Byron Kelleher has insisted his new half-back partner Jean Baptiste Elissalde will not prove a weak link for the French giants tomorrow at Le Stadium.
Kelleher and Elissalde have been in direct competition for the club’s number nine jersey since the arrival of the ex All-Blacks scrum-half following last year’s World Cup in France.
But now the duo find themselves half-back partners rather than rivals for the Heineken Cup last eight clash with the Blues.
And the new-look combination flourished in the victory over Biarritz last weekend.
“Jean-Baptiste Elissalde and myself have been working on the communication side of things and we have some good banter on the pitch which enables us to work together.
“It was good to play together again against Biarritz
“Obviously we have a lot of experience between us and were able to both be on the look-out for possibilities for gaining ground or scoring while Elissalde is very good with his boot so having him at No 10 gives us an extra point of attack.”
