Blues boss Young not giving up on the Magners League crown

CARDIFF Blues boss Dai Young has vowed not to give up on the Magners League title, writes Gareth Griffiths.

Young watched his Blues side surrender a 14-0 lead before eventually losing 24-17 to league leaders Leinster in Dublin.

This has left the Blues eight points adrift with only seven games left and four of their remaining matches away from the Arms Park but Young still believes Celtic glory is possible.

“It’s still achievable to win the league and we won’t give up,” said Young.

“There’s no doubt we’ve made it hard for ourselves, we’ve a huge mountain to climb now.

“But all is not lost, there are seven games left.

“If we can go on a run of victories and somebody can do us a favour too, you never know.

“There are still 35 points up for grabs and a lot of rugby to be played.”

But Young admitted the Blues were kicking themselves after a missed opportunity against Leinster. “It was an extremely disappointed dressing room because the players know deep down that they had the chance to win the match,” added Young.

“It’s always a tough place to win, but we’re hugely disappointed.”
