‘Cup clashes are massive’ - Jenkins

WALES prop Gethin Jenkins has warned his Cardiff Blues team-mates about the importance of their two remaining Heineken Cup qualifying group games as they chase quarter-final qualification.

The Blues face Harlequins at the Arms Park tomorrow night and Bristol on January 20 knowing two victories are needed to reach the knockout stages for the first time since they became a region.

“These two Heineken Cup matches are going to make or break our season and they’re massive games for us,” said Jenkins.

“Against Quins, we have to put in a good performance as we’ve had a bad couple of weeks with the three games over Christmas.”

“We’ve made some good signings which has strengthened the squad. I think, year after year, we’ve been getting better. It just a case now of putting it all together and winning some trophies.”
