THE Welsh Assembly welcomed its youngest visitor to the chamber during a session yesterday.
Six-week old Cerys Amelia joined her mother, Plaid Cymru AM Leanne Wood, as members voted on Ms Wood's party's amendment to a motion on opencast mining.
The 33-year-old, who gave birth on February 28, returned from maternity leave to help Plaid Cymru win the vote.
A campaign in 1997 to allow female MPs to breast-feed in the Westminster chamber failed.
Ms Wood's daughter made very little noise.
Cyclist reports seeing panther
A BIG cat has been spotted in the West Wales countryside.
A cyclist said he saw a cat, the size of a panther, padding across a country lane.
"I was cycling along but stopped in absolute amazement when I saw what I can only describe as a jet black panther on the track only about 50 to 60 yards in front of me," Dixie Tilley said.
It was seen near Cinammon Hill, Haverfordwest.
"It was bigger than an Alsatian" and its shape "was not right for a dog", Mr Tilley told the Western Telegraph.
