An Iraqi man murdered in an apparently racist attack was today named by police.
Kalan Kawa Karim was attacked by a white man outside a south Wales pub in the early hours of yesterday.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital after the assault outside The Potter's Wheel in Kingsway, Swansea, but later died of his injuries.
Today, a spokeswoman for South Wales Police said that the victim was an Iraqi who lived in the Swansea area.
It is not known how long he had been in south Wales, she said.
He was not an asylum seeker, she added.
Detective Chief Inspector Layton Bennetta said yesterday: "This was an unprovoked attack which is being treated as a racist incident."
Police are trying to trace two men who were seen with the attacker before and after the assault.
All three men were white and in their early 20s, said Mr Bennetta.
