SWANSEA-based ghost detective Claire Williams likes nothing better than shutting the door on the world and putting her feet up in her living room.
But she is never alone in there.
She believes the council owned property at Heol Penard in Penlan in the north of the city is inhabited by peaceful, healing spirits.
Claire, 32, has a son Spencer, 13, who suffers from a number of serious ailments including occasional attacks of breathlessness.
She said, "I remember once all Spencer's electrical toys somehow activated at once.
"The noise made me go into his bedroom and I was able to help him at a time when he was suffering respiratory distress.
"It was almost as if I was being called to the room.
"Buildings, especially old ones, are made of oxides and other materials of the same type that magnetic video and audio tape are made.
"It is possible energy from spirits could be trapped in the walls."
Claire believes that an area just outside the living room in particular acts as a kind of portal for positive energy.
She works closely with 65-year-old Brian Perinton, her partner in the Ghost Detective agency they both run.
Brian is writing a book about their paranormal experiences in South Wales over the past few years.
The pair once faced down demons at a pub in Neath and were even called as far away as Padderborn in Germany where an officers' mess was suffering a malevolent presence.
Brian said, "I would not so much say we were ghost busters...more ghost investigators.
"There is often a story behind a house or building which has an uneasy presence.
"For instance with a bit of research we found the officers' mess in Germany had one been used by the SS for interrogating prisoners."
Claire and Brian have made tape recordings of ghostly voices they have heard at the house in Heol Penard.
Brian said, "I have not seen a ghost but I have certainly heard them.
"The place is full of them but Claire does not mind because they tend to be peaceful, positive spirits.
"Claire, whose son Spencer has health problems, believes that the spirits have helped her save him on more than one occasion.
"Claire has seen a ghost in the house . It was a young girl and we refer to her as Spencer's playmate."
The Ghost Detectives from Swansea are available to help anyone troubled by poltergeists, ghosts or any uneasy atmospheres or feelings at houses, offices or commercial property.
Their hotline is 01792 417 693.
The pair plan to spend a night at Margam Abby this summer to investigate sightings of the ghostly figure of a monk in a red habit.
And they also plan to investigate regular sightings of a female ghost in the dressing room and in the corridors of Swansea's Grand Theatre.
