Guto Harri’s career moves

Born in Cardiff in 1966, Guto Harri was educated at Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari before going on to study politics, philosophy and economics at Queen’s College, Oxford.

He then took a postgraduate course in broadcast journalism at the Centre for Journalism Studies in Cardiff before joining the BBC.

He worked for the corporation in Cardiff before moving to London to cover UK and political news for the BBC’s Welsh-language services.

He joined BBC News 24 as chief political correspondent in November 2002, before moving to Rome in 2004.

The following year he was appointed North America business correspondent before returning to Westminster in 2007.

Mr Harri is married and has twin sons, aged six.
