Shock over death of ‘super fit’ student, 21

A “SUPER fit” student has died a day after being diagnosed with tonsillitis.

Leanne Haddrell, 21, was a talented swimmer and water polo player, who was studying at the University of Glamorgan in Treforest, Pontypridd. She went to see a doctor with what she thought was flu, and was diagnosed with tonsillitis. But she felt worse the next day and went to hospital. There she collapsed and died just three hours later. Her mother Mrs Haddrell, 47, from Tewkesbury, said: “Leanne was a stunningly beautiful girl with an amazing smile.”
